Music Is King
It was unexpected week. I honestly thought the first days to myself, no work, would just be rest. I was thinking of planning ahead into 2019 but my mind and body is not having it.
I don't what it is, but when you have time to recharge, you become exhausted, I am tired all the time lately, sleepy, reading all day, and shopping here and there, including spending time with loved ones.

The Music Is King concert took place at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg on December 15. The line-up had the likes of Lady Zamar, Nasty C, Riky Rick, international producer extraordinaire Swizz Beatz, and a surprise performance by Mr Fill Up himself, Cassper Nyovest.

Before I get into the performers, let me be clear I am never going to a concert alone again!!
Thank you to the former colleague who got me access, but they were part of the production and I was basically concerting by myself.
A nightmare. Imagine dancing by yourself, standing by yourself, all night, whilst. I basically stood out like a sore thumb. Then having to fend off unwanted attention by men who are trying to make you 'comfortable' by not being alone, whilst drinking the night away and you are sober.
No thanks.
To the music, my best performers of the night were Nasty C, the kid has elevated the hip hop game, he had the Dome jumping to hits, such as Hell Naw, Jump and his latest hit King, from his critically acclaimed album Strings and Bling album.
Riky Rick did the most too, controversial opinion- he was my highlight of the night. Boss Zonke made me forget my woes of a self pity.

Then there was the Queen of Gqom, Busiswa, if you want Ke December vibes, she is definitely on any playlist, her electric energy on stage, super imposed by her dancers who give it they all, was worth every minute of it. Serving us Banyoma, uWrongo, Banzoyenza and more, her set was fire.

Music Is King himself, Black Coffee, arrived in style, in a supercar with his beautiful wife, actress entrepreneur Enhle Mbali.
He brought his A-game to his die hard fans. His set was predominantly deep house, playing songs from his latest album. Coffee had the best production, lights and Audio visuals.
He collaborated with about 20 artists, such as Sumthing Soweto, Moneoa, ballerina dancer Kitty Phetla and Thandiswa Mazwai during his set.

Overall the night is good, Black Coffee managed to fill up the dome!

Special mention to Dutch deep house legend &Me his set was absolutely amazing.
